It was a thriller last night on the Island as the Lady Jacks defeated the Grand Island Lady Vikings in 5 games. Grand Island started out on a strong note taking the first game, but NT rallied back to win games 2 and 3! In a controversial 4th game, Grand Island overtook the Lady Jacks 24-26 to send the match to the 5th game. NT came out strong in the deciding game taking a 10-2 lead before the Lady Vikings crept back into it. North Tonawanda was able to pull out a victory by a 25-17 margin!
The Lady Jacks were led by Lauren Metzger with 18 kills, 26 digs, and 3 aces. Joanna Fretthold also had a strong match contributing 16 kills, 20 digs, and 8 blocks.
North Tonawanda travels to Sweet Home for their tournament this Saturday with pool play beginning at 8:00am. The Lady Jacks face some extremely tough competition with Kenmore West, Frontier, and Clarence being in their pool!
