North Tonawanda suffered their first league loss of the season last night at the hands of visiting Lockport. The Lady Jacks were able to take the first game 25-21, but the Lady Lions roared back and won the next three, including a 29-27 third game thriller. NT was not playing their best offensive game of the season totalling only 17 kills as a team. The girls also had a negative hitting percentage on the match. Defensively the Lady Jacks played well tallying 57 digs on the night, against a very tough Lockport squad.
Leading the way for NT were Joanna Fretthold (6 kills and 12 digs) and Lauren Metzger (6 kills and 13 digs). Chrissy Zaleski put in a strong effort at the net by slowing down many of the Lady Lions attacks with her blocking ability.
The girls hope to get back on the winning track Friday at Lewiston-Porter High School.
