The Bronx Mad Dogs Football Team is run by Head Coach Abdul Wali Muhammad. Coach Wali (as he is called by his players) has been coaching teens in the Bronx for the past decade. He is a straight-forward, upright man who not only coaches these youths, but gets personally involved with the game himself. He also coaches a semi-pro team. Coach Wali is greatly admired and respected by his players as well as his peers and opposing teams.

Residing in the Bronx, Coach Wali instills in these young men the values of preparation, hardwork, teamwork, unity, dedication and the importance of family. One of his pet peeves is that school comes before playing football. He not only drills this into his players, but he holds team meetings to discuss any issues that may be troubling his players, from schoolwork to personal issues. He truly cares about their well-being, education as well as their mental well-being.

Coach Wali's philosophy toward the game is that whatever you put into it is what you will get out of it. He trains and prepares his players both physically and mentally so that on game day his team is focused, relaxed and committed to winning.
